The Peer Support program is designed to support the smooth transition of students from primary to high school. It involves the training of Year 10 students in the skills of communication, decision making and social relationships. In pairs, these trained leaders are allocated a small group of Year 7 students to mentor and guide through the Peer Support Program during Term 1 of the school year.
The Peer Leaders develop skills with this responsibility and the Year 7 students are made to feel comfortable and secure having such fine role models as leaders. They develop a rapport that extends beyond the Peer Support Program.
