Students develop the skills they need for further study and work in the 21st Century. Social Sciences provide them with the opportunities to become informed global citizens through the exploration of current contemporary issues. Courses offered within the faculty allow students to develop the life -long skills of critical thinking, problem solving and communication empowering them to be socially and culturally literate.
While Social Sciences subjects typically have students who achieve well in the HSC, the courses are designed to cater to a broad range of ability levels and interests. Social Sciences has celebrated many successes and achievements. Excursions and the Senior Geography camp are integral to quality teaching and learning across all classes within the faculty. This allows students to experience the broader Australian Community and engage in experiential learning.
