At Beverly Hills Girls High School we offer students the opportunity to explore the arts through a broad range of areas:
The Arts are an integral part of every student’s development at Beverly Hills Girls High School. The Creative and Performing Arts Department consists of Visual Arts, Music, Drama and Dance. These four creative forms allow students the opportunity to express themselves in ways that other KLA’s cannot, students are encouraged to develop their creative and conceptual abilities in order to become critical thinkers who are culturally aware 21st century learners.
Students develop higher order thinking through challenging conceptually based activities designed to develop key competencies in a diverse range of abilities. Students are encouraged to develop works that challenge current ideologies and societal points of view, they are encouraged to take risks, challenge themselves and develop works that create a connection between themselves and their wider world.
The Creative and Performing Arts at Beverly Hills Girls High School celebrate exceptional student achievement through a variety of public performances, concerts, exhibitions, displays, local community initiatives and competitions all of which highlight the excellent abilities of our girls.
Our students regularly excel in CAPA subjects well beyond those of other subject areas, these achievements include students selected for Art Express, OnSTAGE, State and Regional awards, School Spectacular and Junior Tropfest.
The Creative and Performing Arts, through the highly trained teaching staff, engages students to become lifelong learners. CAPA students pursue career pathways through University and TAFE enabling them to become Professional Musicians, Performers, Artists, Educators, Film Makers, Designers and highly skilled Media Directors working for companies such as BBC, ABC and other industry leaders.
