Our school is committed to developing the full range of abilities in our students. Arts education is an important and integral component of our junior and senior curriculum.
Our highly capable music teachers hone the individual talents of students in areas such as vocals, keyboard and guitar while collective talents are developed in programs such as the junior choir.
A music tuition program is available whereby elite talents are developed through working with external specialists in areas of student expertise. These lessons are usually held within timetabled music periods or at lunchtimes.
We boast a strong record of student participation in elite programs such as the Talent Identification Program (TIP), Talent Advancement Program (TAP) and in state bands and ensembles. HSC practical performances have been targeted for inclusion in Encore, the showcase of the best talent across NSW each year.
Each semester, students in creative and performing arts courses showcase their performance skills in a CAPA Evening, in the school hall. The event features students from music, dance and drama courses from Year 7 to Year 12 and is always highly acclaimed by audience members.
The school boasts a strong record of student participation in regional and state visual arts talent development and enrichment programs including Art Express, the touring exhibition of the finest practical works from HSC students each year.
Our main foyer is proudly designated as an exhibition space for the promotion and display of student works in visual arts.
